Last February 15, 2018, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines Corporation (MMPC) inaugurated its stamping facility in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. MMPC invited 1-CARE Representative Carlos Roman L. Uybarreta being a member of the Committee on Ways and Means which is presently conducting an inquiry on the Comprehensive Automotive Resurgence Strategy (CARS) Program. With him were Manila Teachers Party List Representative Virgilio S. Lacson and 1st District of Laguna Representative Arlene B. Arcillas. The Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Ramon M. The stamping facility was built to help Mitsubishi comply with the CARS program requirement for them to build the Mitsubishi Mirage locally. Mitsubishi expects to be able to produce around 200,000 units of the Mitsubishi Mirage by 2023. The facility is also expected to provide additional jobs for Filipinos.
